Happy New Year! Can you believe it is 2019? The past year flew by, but I am so excited for all the new opportunities and adventures this new year holds. I am having my third baby in a month, so I have really been looking forward to 2019. With the beginning of the year, so many of us make goals and resolutions. Whether it is working out or trying something new, one thing I am here to remind you is to add healthier hair to your goals. It is a goal that I make a priority every year! It is the perfect time to start new habits that will leave your hair strong and beautiful. If you are feeling like you need to start with a detox, here are five ways to refresh your hair and start 2019 off on the right track…

1. Do a Deep Conditioning Treatment

A deep conditioner is the perfect product to hit reset on your hair. If your hair is feeling super dry, try putting a deep conditioning mask on your hair and leave it on for a good 10-20 minutes. I love this deep conditioner by Kerastase and this one by Moroccan Oil. Your hair will feel so silky and shiny after this! Shop a few more of Team LC’s favorites below…

2. Take Your Vitamins

I take two biotin gummies everyday and I have noticed such a difference with my hair. Biotin is known for helping your hair become stronger, and I feel that it helps my hair grow faster too. Try the Sweethearts from BFB Hair. I love that they are delicious, which is a plus!

3. Hydrate for Your Hair

Staying hydrated not only helps your hair, but your whole body! Drinking enough water is so good for your skin and hair. It helps clear out toxins and keeps your hair hydrated from the inside out. So drink up!

4. Eat Healthy Hair Food

If one of your New Year’s resolutions already has to do with healthy eating, then this is a great opportunity to incorporate foods that will benefit your hair. Foods that are high in vitamin C, vitamin A, iron and Omega 3’s will help strengthen your hair. Don’t forget about protein too!

5. Take a 10-Day No Heat Challenge

The holiday season usually means lots of parties and get-togethers, and if you are like me I love curling my hair for parties. But a lot of heat can dry out your hair and cause breakage—yikes! So, even though it might be hard in the beginning, try taking a no heat challenge for at least 10 days. That means no blow drying, straightening or curling. Instead, let your hair air dry and embrace your natural texture, or style your hair with a fun braid or ponytail. Your hair will thank you after doing no heat for an extended period of time, and you will get more creative with how to style your hair.

I hope these tips will help your hair be even healthier in 2019! Happy New Year, everyone! For more easy styles, head to @BarefootBlondeHair and my blog.
