Lemons
Pin It

It’s official. Spring has arrived. That means it’s time to shed those layers and show some skin. Unfortunately, our limbs have been hiding all winter long and may not be looking their prettiest. To bring dull skin back to life, try this refreshing body scrub. Here is an easy recipe for a salt scrub that you can make with ingredients found in your own kitchen.  You’re just moments away from shiny new skin.

What you will need

  • 5 tablespoons sea salt
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 lemon

Instructions

First mix the olive oil and sea salt together. Once the salt gets coated by the oil, the lemon won’t dissolve it! Next cut the lemon in half and squeeze over the salt + oil. Mix and mash. (Feel free to adjust the recipe to your liking.) Then scrub away!!

DIY Lemon Scrub (my variation):

Lemons (I used real lemons and not the lemon juice found in the bottle)

Sugar (I used regular white sugar. You can use brown sugar if you'd like as well.)

--- I took the lemon and cut it in half. Wrapped up one half of the lemon in plastic wrap then put it in the fridge for another time.

I squeezed out as much juice as I could from the other half of lemon into a cup. Then take a knife and cut that half that was squeezed in half and use that half as your "scrubbing pad". The half of a half makes the perfect size for a scrubbing pad. You can use the other half when your dine scrubbing and place it in the cup of lemon juice and store in the fridge for next time. Take about a tablespoon of sugar and put in the center of a small dish. Take one of the cut halves and dip it skin side up in the cup to get some of the juice then pat it in the sugar. I only used this on my face and I made sure that before I started scrubbing that I splashed my face with warm water. You want your pores open for when you scrub so it removes all the dirt, oils and impurties in your skin. I started on my cheeks and rubbed it all over my face going back to dipping the lemon in the juice and sugar many times. I did this until all of the sugar was gone. I made sure I paid more attention to my T zone and around my nose. After I rinsed my face clean of the lemon and sugar mixture I noticed a huge difference in the way my skin looked right away. It was incredibly soft and I don't even remember it ever being this soft. Also I noticed a big difference in the blackheads I had around my nose too. I'm going to use this a few times a week. The results are amazing! Definitely makes your skin glow! :)

good idea... I am going to try it!!!

I love this idea, I'm deffinitley going to try it soon

for a fun twist, add a sprig of rosemary with the lemon. Don't chop it up, just put the whole sprig in and seal the lid.

I don't have time to go and buy a lemon, so do you think I could switch up the lemon with lime? I feel like it would work

Can't wait to try this!

Is this something that can be used on your face too?
