Helping Hand: Giving Thanks

I am thrilled to be a part of Good Morning America and Burlington Coat Factory’s 5th Annual Warm Coats & Warm Hearts Coat Drive. Many families across the country are struggling to afford warm, cold-weather attire. By donating just one coat you are giving someone the warmth of your kindness—both figuratively and literally.  This is the fifth year of the coat drive and One Warm Coat will donate their millionth coat during this holiday season. Amazing!

Join me in donating a gently-worn coat to help those locally in need at your nearby Burlington Coat Factory. Not only will it warm your heart by giving, it will warm the soul of those giving thanks.

I have a closet full of coats and hoodies/sweaters, all oh which I do not wear! Will def go through and donate a coat!

Also: Have you heard of blessing bags? They are bags of basic items you can make up and carry in your car to give out. I carry extra water bottles and bags of nuts and energy bars to give out to those on the street. Buying a cup of coffe for them is a nice way to make sure they get something warm.

Your local food banks need volunteers, millions are starving in this country, please clean out your pantry and give a bag and or of your time .     I buy extra all year and take bags to the food bank.

If I'm going on vacation for Thanksgiving, what should I pack?

 

I need to find a lot of things to donate to Goodwill. :)

I love that you are apart of this too! I am a member of PRSSA at Penn State and my club recently held this event on campus. We collected around 250 coats! such a great cause :)

I just cleaned out my coat closet and have several I will be donating. Thanks for sharing, I hadn't heard about this coat drive!!

What a great cause Lauren! I will also have to go through my coats and find one that I don't wear because if I'm not wearing it, I'm sure someone out there would love to enjoy it :) Thanks for sharing this wonderful cause and I will be sure to share it with my FIDM Fashion Club peeps as well :)
